Responsibilities

The CTO will be responsible for driving strategy, creating momentum at Pan African level for key clients and proactively leading the account(s) for a host of clients who require Technology driven solutions

You will be visionary in developing and accelerating proprietary product development, seamlessly delivering client projects along with the Dev ops and QA teams.

You will possess the business acumen to discover market gaps and deliver revenue growth with sharp salesmanship and relationships with CTO’s and CIO’s in Corporate Africa.

You will have excellent team management & leadership skills as you will be part of the EXCO and hence drive and direct teams to deliver future growth of the business.
The core responsibilities of this role include;

Create the technology vision for Squad, a vision that integrates with the developer community.

Lead the strategy for technology platforms, partnerships and external relationships

Represent the technological agenda in staff meetings and when making hiring decisions

Identify, compare, select and implement technology solutions to meet current and future needs
-
Develop, track and control the development of annual operating and capital budgets in line with the organisation’s financial targets.

Manage and optimize technology assets and human resource infrastructure assets to satisfy internal financial targets
-
Create overall technology standards and practices and ensure adherence
-
Track, analyse and monitor technology performance metrics across all 3 growth areas.

Oversee all system design and changes in system architecture

Work closely with Marketing, Business Development and Operations to define and deliver new products and enhancements

Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity, representing the organisation at public forums, conferences, etc
Requirements
-
Ideally, the candidate should have previous working experience as a CTO (Chief Technology Officer) for 7+ year(s)

MA in Engineering, Computer Science or similar relevant field
-
In-depth knowledge of web systems architecture, design and development
-
A strong understanding of Machine Learning and related fields.

Hands on experience with complex project management

Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills

Should have a good understanding of the role of advertising within the broader business context to aid the development of the agency’s relationship with the Client(s) as an IMC partner.

Have innate curiosity
