Position Overview:
The Corporate Communications Officer will play a critical role in shaping BURN’s narrative and ensuring that our mission, values, and achievements are effectively communicated to diverse audiences. This role involves creating compelling content across various platforms, including digital media, print, and internal communications.

She/ He will work closely with the Head of Communications and other team members to develop content that resonates with our stakeholders, including donors, investors, partners, and the communities we serve.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Content Creation: Write, edit, and proofread content for various communication channels, including press releases, blog posts, newsletters, reports, and social media.
  • Storytelling: Develop and tell stories that highlight BURN’s impact, mission, and the people we serve.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive, Head of Communications, and other departments to gather information and insights that inform content creation.
  • Brand Voice: Ensure all content aligns with BURN’s brand voice, tone, and messaging guidelines.
  • Research: Conduct research to support content development, including interviews with stakeholders and gathering data to strengthen narratives.
  • Content Calendar: Contribute to the development and maintenance of a content calendar to ensure timely delivery of content.
  • Internal Communications: Assist in crafting internal communications, including newsletters and updates, to keep the BURN team informed and engaged.
  • SEO & Digital Strategy: Collaborate with the digital communications team to optimize content for search engines and enhance online visibility.
Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in writing for an international market and audience, preferably in a social enterprise, nonprofit, or similar environment.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives that engage and inspire diverse audiences.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible content.
  • Experience with digital content creation, including familiarity with SEO best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and content management systems (CMS).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with storytelling in the context of social impact, finance or environmental sustainability.
  • Knowledge of the clean energy sector, carbon or related fields.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment and the ability to adapt writing for different cultural contexts.
