We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Social and Humanitarian Programme Area in our newly established Nairobi office. The role will be specifically dedicated to co-managing and executing The Partnership for Education of Health Professionals (PEP) across Kenya and East Africa.
With the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s 2030 Strategy, the Foundation is committed to fight global inequities in health. PEP serves as a flagship programme in the health equity agenda by strengthening institutional capacity for improved education of health professionals, with a focus on strengthening the prevention of and care for cardiometabolic diseases (CMDs).
Through PEP, the Novo Nordisk Foundation works with partners in India and East Africa to strengthen the capacity of educational institutions for health professionals and promote opportunities for women in the health workforce. The aim is to equip nurses, medical doctors and other health professionals for providing quality prevention of and care for cardiometabolic diseases in response to the needs of people living in vulnerable positions in India and East Africa. A granting frame of DKK 1 billion has been allocated to the PEP programme in India and East Africa for the period 2023-2030.
The job
As Project Manager you will work closely together with the Global Health Senior Programme Manager to manage the development and execution of the PEP programme and related projects, working from the Nairobi office. You will have regular contact with the Global Health team, located in our offices in Copenhagen and New Delhi, for sparring, knowledge sharing and developing further Global Health initiatives.

You will be part of a team of 24 colleagues working within the Social and Humanitarian Programme Area and report to the Director of Global Health, who sits in our Copenhagen HQ.
We are looking for a project manager who is highly motivated to contribute to global health challenges and our PEP programme. You have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience with designing, driving, and managing projects in LMICs for international organisations (UN, World Bank), philanthropic foundations, consultancy firms, research institutions or universities, or NGO’s. Furthermore, you have a master’s degree in public health, global health, education science, social sciences, development studies or other relevant.
To succeed in this role, you must have a strong understanding of relevant stakeholders and the ecosystem in Kenya and East Africa and thrive working in an environment where building relationships is a top priority.
