About the role:BURN is looking for a Senior tax & compliance officer responsible for tax and statutory compliance for BURN entities.Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare the necessary paperwork for monthly and annual tax, levies & statutory return filings and payments.
- Prepare and maintain monthly reconciliations for VAT, WH VAT & WHT;
- Assist in lodging and follow up on VAT refunds with the revenue authorities;
- Ensure the Group’s’ internal processes are compliant with the existing tax laws by monitoring tax development at local and national levels;
- Maintain a monthly returns’ calendar;
- Serving as a liaison between regulators, revenue authorities and internal/external auditors concerning deliverables from the tax and compliance department;
- Recommend tax-efficient business structures for existing and new businesses;
- Ensure BURN Group transfer pricing policy is followed in all intra-group transactions;
- Research and updating the Group on new and emerging changes in applicable tax & statutory laws and regulations and practices across all Jurisdictions;
- Follow up with Revenue Authorities for issuance of WHT certificates;
- Ensure complete documentation of relevant supports and proof of tax remittance;
- Assist in compiling and presenting supporting documentation during Revenue Authority and other regulatory bodies audits; and
- Any other tasks as may be assigned by the Company.
Qualifications and Education Background
- Relevant Degree, CPA or equivalent
- 5+ years’ work experience in taxation & compliance in a big 4 or Multinational
- Technical skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with ERP systems – preferably Microsoft NAV
- Excellent spoken and written English skills, preferable knowledge of French
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment
